Where the best of the past meets the present

Acquired in 2018, the Jackson House Inn is regarded as one of Vermont’s finest inns. Nestled on the edge of Woodstock, Vermont, often seen as Vermont’s most beautiful village, the Jackson House Inn was originally constructed in 1890 and has served as an inn for almost 80 years. Since acquiring the Inn, we’ve refurbished the public rooms and installed a world-class art collection throughout the Inn, ranging from Hudson River School paintings to contemporary photography. All 14 guest rooms feature Frette linens, Anichini bedcoverings, and offer guest amenities such as turndown service, Red Kite caramels, Saratoga water, and locally made Whisper Hill bath products. We’ve got you covered with contemporary features, too, such as flatscreen tv’s and free WiFi throughout the Inn. A longtime signature of the Inn, breakfasts are three courses and feature eggs from our own chickens and fresh produce and herbs from our own gardens in season.

Originally built in the Queen Anne style, the Jackson House Inn was seamlessly expanded in the 1990s to include 14 deluxe rooms, including luxurious one-room suites featuring gas fireplaces and whirlpool tubs, while our classic and snug rooms are delightfully detailed with handmade mattresses and objects gathered from around the world.

The three-acre gardens are a delight in any season, and feature chaise longues and Adirondack chairs on the lawns in summer and a delightful trout-filled pond at the rear of the property—the perfect spot for an evening cocktail as the light fades.

The village of Woodstock is famously one of the most beautiful and best preserved in all of New England, thanks in part to the generosity of the Rockefeller family who helped fund village beautification early in the 20th century. Today’s village features an array of delightful shops and dining for all tastes from gourmet to to burgers. Nearby villages feature compelling attractions including artisanal shops Farmhouse Pottery, Shackleton Thomas, and Simon Pearce, as well as the annual balloon festival in nearby Quechee. And of course there’s the spectacular fall foliage and skiing unparalleled in the eastern United States.

There’s even a brilliant selection of retail products featuring local makers who are highlighted throughout the Inn so that you can take some of the experience of the Jackson House Inn home with you.
